Rebuilding Families

When your relationship breaks up it inevitably involves other people - your children, members of each other's family and your friends. For many of us those relationships are important parts of our lives and there may be issues that are hard to resolve with the other people associated with the relationship.

A relationship breakdown and subsequent new relationship can bring about child raising issues you may never have considered. You may find yourself as a single parent with sole responsibility for raising your children or you may be in a situation where you are raising someone else's children. As hard as this may be for you it is harder on the children. Adjusting can take a long time and your job as a parent is to make the transition as easy as possible.

This section looks at the impact of relationship breakdown on children, friends and other family members and uses the experience of others who have experienced relationship breakdown to support you through this difficult time.
